Everyone loves a picture! Here is how I intend to conduct my research over the next wee while, subject to change of course but it’s how I see the process at the moment.

I want more violists to access Traditional music, to know that it is an option.

To better understand the historical and contemporary use of the viola in Scottish Traditional Music.
Develop a vision and explore the possibilities of a creative role for the viola relating to current Scottish Traditional music practice including new music compositions, arrangements and recordings.
Develop materials to encourage the teaching and application of viola in Traditional music for formal and informal instrumental tuition in Scotland.
